Black Forest Cake

Ingredients:

Cake:

1. Milk 1/2 cup
2. Flour / Maida 1 cup
3. Cocoa powder 3 tbs
4. Baking powder 1 tsp
5. Baking soda 1/2 tsp
6. Egg 3
7. Salt 1/4 tsp
8. Sugar 3/4 cup
9. Oil 1/4 cup
10. Coffee powder 1 tsp (optional)

Cream:

1. Whipping cream 1 1/4 cup
2. Sugar 2 tbs
3. Vanilla Essence 1 tsp
4. Grated chocolate (optional)


Instructions:

  • Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda to a bowl and mix well. Keep it aside.
  • Take half glass of milk and add coffee powder to it. mix until it dissolves completely.
  • Crack three eggs to a bowl. Add salt and vanilla essence and beat well. Beat until the quantity doubles.
  • Add sugar gradually and beat until fluffy. 
  • Then add oil and try not to over beat.
  • Add the flour mix gradually to this batter along with milk. Mix until all combined well.
  • Pour the batter to a baking tin. Tap gently to avoid air bubbles.
  • Pre heat the oven for 10 minutes and bake at 120°C for 30 minutes.
  • Once cool down, cut the cake into two or three.
  • Take whipping cream to a bowl. Add sugar and Vanilla essence to it. Beat until stiff peaks (for around 5 minutes).
  • spread sugar syrup on each layer. 
  • Apply whipped cream on cake. Spread evenly and keep one by one on each layer and apply sides of cake and refrigerate for 20 mins.
  • Decorate cake with whipping cream and sprinkle grated chocolate/chocolate syrup on top of the cake.
